Ethics Committee on Animal Use (CEUA)

The Animal Use Ethics Committee at the University of Vale do Paraíba (CEUA – UNIVAP) is a specialized and autonomous institutional body with its own regulations, dedicated to promoting ethical practices in the use of animals for teaching and scientific research. Its mission goes beyond mere oversight: it aims to ensure that ethical and legal principles are strictly observed, promoting animal welfare and scientific responsibility within UNIVAP.

Accredited by the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA), as stated in Official Letter 22752/2017-SEI/MCTIC and registration CIAEP/CONCEA 01.0463.2017, CEUA-UNIVAP operates with the utmost responsibility in approving, monitoring, and overseeing activities involving animals, always in accordance with national and international regulations. The committee stands as a pillar of the university's commitment to ethics and academic excellence, ensuring that research and teaching uphold the highest standards of animal care and protection.
